Elaine has been on the Home Delivered Meal Program for one year.  Elaine is an 81 year old woman that lives alone. Elaine is very active in her trailer park community.  Elaine was signed up for the Holiday Meal Program by her meal delivery monitor.  She was reluctant to be on the program but agreed anyway.  A few days after the Holiday Meal Program ended, Elaine sent in a thank you note and this is what it said. “I really don’t know how to thank you for your thoughtfulness.  But since Thanksgiving I’ve lost two very special friends.  And I’d been thinking ‘How am I going to handle Christmess?’(sic)
‘Am I going to act like a sad and grouchy old 81 yr. old woman?’  Now I can say NO WAY, there are people in the World who don’t know me-who gave me gifts and a Happy Holiday wish.  That’s what it’s all about.
